Theatre pedagogy
and acting
About me
Anne Buntemann has already been on stage once at 5 a.m. She has been performing improvisational theatre since 2004, is constantly gathering new inspirations and loves stories beyond imagination. She is passionate about mime and physical theatre and brings the absurd and grotesque into her play.
Her first contacts with theatre were in school projects and at the children‘s and youth theatre “Die Schotte” in Erfurt. She then studied Theatre Studies and Educational Sciences at the University of Leipzig (Master of Arts) and took part in numerous acting workshops. In addition to directing theatre education projects, including at the children‘s and youth theatre Theatrium Leipzig-Grünau, she worked as a clown at “Clowns & Clowns e.V.“ in Leipzig and was an ensemble member in the Leipzig improvisational theatre groups “Sowiesoda“ and “Action & Drama“.
Drawn by the sea, she moved to Lisbon in 2019 and quickly formed new collaborations with the improvisational theatre groups “Lilimprov“ and “Codfish Water“. In Lisbon, Anne led theatre projects in schools, was active as an actress in improvisational theatre and led classes and workshops.
Following new theatre opportunities Anne moved back to her old home in Leipzig in September 2023 to work at LOFFT – DAS THEATER.

Improv Theatre
Each scene is a moment of playfulness, a composition of images, or an exciting storyline. Improvisational theatre or Improv challenges spontaneity and discovers the infinity of possibilities. Move by move, the players enter the game with the utmost commitment and follow the rabbit down the hole into the unknown. In this space, imagination knows no limits.
Projects
Happy And Productions
Happy And Productions, in their latest work, The Fortunate Chaos, explores the meaning and absurdity of existence through the lens of timeless myths and fairy tales.
In this imaginative performance, three figures embody fate itself, weaving the threads of an unfolding story shaped entirely by chance and creativity. Drawing on ancient tales, they invite the audience to reflect on their own desires, hopes, and questions about the past and future. From this interaction, a unique theme emerges to guide the evening’s journey, enhanced by evocative live music.

Improfestival Salento 2023
Improfestival Salento was an international Improv and Performing Arts festival that took place from 27 August to 1 September 2023 in the beautiful town of Gallipoli, in southern Italy. It was organized under the patronage of the Improteatro Professional National Association, along with a network of international improvisation groups from across Europe.
I was honored to be invited and to co-teach with Cesar Gouvea. In our workshop, we explored techniques that allowed participants to enter a state of flow, act spontaneously, and discover playful responses that reflect their unique personalities.

Lilimprov
Lilimprov was a theatre group based in Lisbon, bringing together women artists from Brazil, Portugal, and Germany. We worked within the realms of physical theatre, object theatre, improvisation, and dance. Our most recent performance of the project HER WOR(L)DS was held at the Irreverente Festival in Lisbon on 28 July 2023. Our research focused on women’s representation in history, society, and on stage.
Sowiesoda
Improvisational theatre that has long since ceased to be student theatre, with a penchant for exaggeration and musical accompaniment.
Have you ever experienced this? You are walking unsuspectingly and suddenly a bizarre creature grumbles towards you, transforming before your eyes into an enchanting fairy, only to jump down your throat a short time later as a button that has come to life …
No?
You really don‘t know?
Then you haven‘t heard of sowiesoda! The group was founded in Leipzig in 2004 and played regularly in the bar froehlich & herrlich in the theatre Westflügel.
Action & Drama
Why not bring the many great improv artists from the various Leipzig groups together on stage?
That‘s exactly what we did. From 2009 onwards, this developed into a permanent ensemble with its own playing philosophy: the Action&Drama Improvisational Theatre Leipzig. Our shows can be light, but also profound. There should be room for laughter and sighing: action and drama. That is why we have always told a long and detailed story in our shows.
Clown
A Clown – a playful memory, an absurd moment. The clown sparks curiosity, excites the senses, touches on the forbidden, and seduces us into adventure – for the clown is allowed to do anything: cross boundaries, expose prejudices, break taboos, and, above all, fail with pleasure.
Projects

Ulla und Trulla
Actress in the clown and comedy duo ‘Ulla und Trulla’, with regular public performances in collaboration with ‘Apocalyptic Revenge Theatre – Clowns vs. Mimes’ and ‘VariUTé’.
Theatre Pedagogy
Theatre Pedagogy (German: Theaterpädagogik) is an independent discipline combining both theatre and pedagogy. As a field that arose during the 20th century, theatre pedagogy has developed separately from drama education, the distinction being that the drama teacher typically teaches method, theory, and/or practice of performance alone, while theatre pedagogy integrates both art and education to develop language and strengthen social awareness.

Mime and Physical Theatre
Mime – that means speaking without words and telling stories with your body. The workshop offers a fascinating insight into the basics of mime. Using various body and imagination techniques, we will embark on a journey of discovery into the realm of the imagination. In this way we create an invisible world in which everything seems possible.
Body Language in Nonverbal Communication
The whole world is a stage. Whether giving a lecture, moderating, or leading a seminar, authentic and self-confident body language is essential for successful communication and avoiding misunderstandings. A confident and effective self-presentation enables a convincing appearance. he seminar examines various body language cues, revealing unconscious or automatic postures and gestures. In theatre-pedagogical exercises, the participants revive and expand their own possibilities of expression. They learn tricks and techniques to strengthen their personal presence and to use facial expressions, gestures, and posture with confidence.
Humour in Education
Humour is recognised as a key competence in educational work. Laughing together creates trust and enables spontaneous exchange, can reduce stress, and loosen up tense situations. Humour promotes social competence, reduces fears, and unleashes creativity. The seminar offers an insight into possibilities and techniques to discover humour as an inner attitude, to shape it and to make it useful for one‘s own work. The focus is on getting to know one‘s own humour resources in the form of a humour anamnesis and various creative exercises.
Participants receive practical tips and tricks to make educational settings fun and find strategies to playfully integrate humour into their everyday work. Laughter is allowed here.
